Small studio, big clients.
Founded in London in 2011, we’re a small product design studio specialising in UX, UCD, and accessibility for big clients all over the world.
By way of introduction.
I’m Evan Skuthorpe, and I run Oldworld Creative. I work across experience design and research (from discovery through testing and iteration), visual design, accessibility, IA, and UX copywriting.
I started out writing HTML and CSS by hand, designing in-browser. This progressed to some dabbling in front-end development. Around this time, I studied multimedia design and software development. Later, I moved into usability and accessibility. This technical origin, coupled with my focus on human-centred design, means I tend to think about design and engineering as one problem rather than two.
Company history.
The company was founded in London in April 2011, and operated out of the medieval crossroads of Aldgate - one of the seven gates of London that still define the Square Mile today. In 2021, we relocated to the Abbey Quarter of the Roman spa town of Bath, and in 2022, we established ourselves in the medieval market town of Great Dunmow (described in the Domesday Book commissioned by William the Conqueror).
Our very first client was QVC (the home-shopping channel), and more recently we’ve worked with the likes of NATO, the Ministry of Defence, and Lloyds Banking Group. We’re seasoned pros across defence, finance, telecoms, education, and eCommerce sectors, and have assisted a long line of design, advertising, and marketing agencies.
